Techkon SpectroJet w/ ExPresso

The Techkon SpectroJet is a spectrophotometer on wheels. Guide it by hand along the color bar and it measures the density and color values of process and spot colors across the entire press sheet, sending the data to your PC within seconds. It is the cost-efficient, open-loop way to bring scanning-speed color control to offset and digital printing.

How it works

SpectroJet runs on a precision track so the tracking wheels stay straight along the color patches. Spectral data goes straight to the Techkon ExPresso software, which shows the density, dot gain, gray balance, Lab values, and ink key recommendations you need to bring the press into tolerance. Because it reads any color bar on any press type or format, there is no limit on press size, and it ships as a complete turn-key system with the software included.

Choose your model

• SpectroJet Basic: ink zone density display for CMYK and spot colors, dot area, dot gain, print contrast, densitometric gray balance, front and reverse printing, target values and tolerances, data export, and reports. Supports up to 6 printing units.
• SpectroJet Pro: everything in Basic, plus colorimetric display per ink zone (dE, Lab, LCh), InkCheck ink key recommendations, and ISO 12647 and G7 evaluation. Supports up to 16 printing units.

A Basic system can be moved up to Pro with the ExPresso Basic to Pro upgrade.

Key features

• Standards-ready: a switchable physical polarizing filter reads color under standardized conditions that meet ISO and G7 requirements.
• Fast: scans at about 160 mm/s, roughly 4 seconds for a 520 mm sheet length.
• Flexible: place the control strip anywhere on the sheet. Track lengths of 20, 29, and 40 inches are available.
• Open-loop data: measurement data exports to other applications for a closed-loop workflow.
