ColorEdge CG3100X: Expand Your Creative Horizons

The EIZO ColorEdge CG3100X is a 30.5-inch DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) HDR color management monitor built for video editing, color grading, VFX, CGI, and photography. It combines 500 cd/m² brightness, 99% DCI-P3 and 97% Adobe RGB coverage, HLG and PQ HDR gamma, a built-in calibration sensor, and single-cable USB Type-C connectivity with up to 94 W of power delivery. A light-shielding hood is included in the box.

DCI 4K Resolution on a 30.5-inch Screen

With 4096 x 2160 resolution, more than four times Full HD, the ColorEdge CG3100X shows DCI 4K cinema content at its native size. Fine detail stays crisp, so the monitor suits compositing, CGI, VFX, and color grading.

500 cd/m² Brightness and HDR Gamma

High brightness and a 1800:1 typical contrast ratio work together with HLG and PQ gamma curves. As a result, you can preview and grade HDR content accurately. Camera log footage can also be viewed through ColorNavigator 7.

Broadcast and Cinema Color Presets

The monitor covers 99% of DCI-P3 and 97% of Adobe RGB. It also offers BT.2020, BT.709, DCI-P3, PQ, HLG, Adobe RGB, and sRGB presets, which you can switch directly from the front-panel controls.

10-Bit Display with a 24-Bit LUT and 3D LUT

Simultaneous 10-bit display, processed through a 24-bit look-up table, shows more than a billion colors for smooth gradations. In addition, an RGB cube-based 3D LUT allows precise color adjustment, including film emulation through ColorNavigator 7.

Built-In Calibration Sensor on the ColorEdge CG3100X

The integrated sensor swings onto the screen and recalibrates automatically on a schedule you set. No third-party device is required, so the ColorEdge CG3100X stays accurate with minimal effort.

ColorNavigator 7 and ColorNavigator Network

EIZO’s free ColorNavigator 7 software handles calibration and quality control across multiple color modes. ColorNavigator Network also adds centralized, remote management of color modes, scheduled self-calibration, and asset settings for every monitor in a studio.

ColorEdge CG3100X Connectivity and Comfort

Single-Cable USB Type-C

One USB Type-C cable carries video, USB data, LAN access, and up to 94 W of power to a connected laptop. DisplayPort and HDMI inputs both support DCI 4K at 60p. HDMI also supports Fixed Rate Link (FRL) for 12-bit, high-bandwidth signals, and an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable is included.

Quiet Design and Light-Shielding Hood

A punched-metal rear panel improves airflow and keeps fan noise to about 20 dB. The included magnetic hood blocks glare for accurate on-screen color judgments. There is also a headphone jack for monitoring audio.

Editing and Post-Production Tools

The ColorEdge CG3100X includes on-screen tools that speed up professional review:

• Pixel Inspection to read source and displayed pixel values
• Luminance Warning to flag clipped highlights
• BT.709 out-of-gamut warning and clipping simulation
• 4K Zoom and adjustable safe-area markers
• Nearest-neighbor interpolation for pixel-accurate scaling
• PQ clipping or compression to the monitor’s peak brightness
• Sync Signal, which switches brightness, gamma, and gamut automatically from the input signal’s metadata

Stable, Uniform Image

Each monitor’s gamma is adjusted at the factory across 1024 levels per channel. EIZO’s Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) then keeps brightness and chromaticity consistent across the screen. AI-based temperature compensation adjusts output in real time, and the display stabilizes about three minutes after power-on. Every unit ships with its own Factory Report.

Commitment to Quality

The ColorEdge CG3100X is backed by EIZO’s 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, which covers all components including the panel (usage time limited to 30,000 hours). It also carries a six-month zero bright sub-pixel guarantee. The monitor is FograCert Class A certified as a softproof monitor, and its housing uses more than 85% recycled plastic.
