Xitron IntelliTrap for Navigator Workflow

Xitron IntelliTrap is a PDF-based trapping module for the Navigator Workflow. Trapping compensates for press misregistration by overlapping ink where colors meet, and IntelliTrap applies it to the incoming PDF in the workflow instead of inside the RIP.

How IntelliTrap works

• Trapping in the PDF: Xitron describes this as much faster than in-RIP trapping and reports job throughput gains of up to 70%, especially on complex artwork.
• Automated or interactive: run it fully automated, or let operators inspect and adjust traps before the job goes to RIP and plate.
• Misregistration check: enter misregistration values in the viewer to test the trap settings.
• Configurable for offset printing conditions.
• Technology: uses Hybrid Software PDF trapping technology.

Requirements and upgrades

IntelliTrap is a module of the Navigator Workflow, so it needs Navigator GPS Workflow v9. Xitron released it in March 2024 and has offered existing in-RIP trapping customers a special upgrade price.
